Good Bye 2011

Well November flew by and December has come and gone. The boys are growing so fast. Andrew is now 7 1/2 months and so close to crawling. He has been attempting to pull himself up the last couple of days before I know it he'll be crawling/running around after Matthew. Matthew has made huge steps in the potty training department and I believe that by the time he starts school again he will be completely out of diapers.

Matty had his first Christmas concert at school which was so cute to watch. They sang a number of songs which Matty attempted to sing about half of them and helped me to understand why he kept saying Kaa-choo....he was practising one of his songs.

Christmas was great we had two wonderful family dinners and finally got to meet my newest cousin Sinead who is only a month younger then Andrew. Those two took quite a liking to each other which was so cute to watch them interact.  It was also great because Matty is finally understanding the Santa thing which was cute because leading up to Christmas he kept saying Santa coming to town and bringing present for him, baby (Andrew), Daddy and Mommy.

So were wishing everyone a very Happy New Year and a wonderful 2012!

Today my baby is 6months old!

Wow can't believe that my littlest guy is 6months old. Time flies when you're super busy with two kids.

Halloween was a lot of fun this year Matty finally understands the process....he was batman this year (he still tries to wear the costume everyday) He liked the free candy part but I will have to say that we have eaten most of it ;)  Andrew was a chicken but didn't last that long I believe one house and that was it so he just watched Matty and slept.

nanananana Batman!

Chicken little

Matty is doing really well is pre-school we had a parent/teacher/student open house last night and he showed me all the things he's learning. He's really starting to enjoy it which is nice to see. We have also started our swim lessons for both Andrew and Matty, which they both seem to enjoy. I have to try to get them hooked on swimming before soccer gets it's hooks into them.

John and Matty's latest adventure is going 4x4 on the mini quad that Uncle Scott gave us. Matty loves it almost every Saturday John and Matty go up to McNutt Mountain. Andrew and I tagged along for one adventure but not a lot of fun for us seeing that I have to hike.

not to worry John rides with him lol!

1st time in the backpack!

Annual visit to the pumpkin patch.

Well today was Matty's 1st field trip and it was off to the Laity Pumpkin Patch! Now we have been taking Matty annual and this was Andrew's 1st trip so it was only proper to have a picture of him in the pumpkin field just like we did with Matthew.
Andrew's 1st visit

Matthew's 1st visit

got my pumpkin Mom.

All four boys together sort of!
Fun was had by all but I tell you Matty loves the animals way to much so I believe he may be a farmer....or I will have to pay for some riding lessons as the first thing he pointed out was the horses!

September has come and gone!

Well Matty has been in Preschool for almost 4 weeks now and he is doing really well. The first two weeks were me physically handing him over to the teacher and running away but now he will kind of walk in but still protests every morning with "no school"!
1st day of Preschool looks pretty darn happy!
Andrew is almost 5mos. now and growing like a weed. At his last shots he weighed in at 17lbs 14oz and 26cm long and strong as an ox (we're in trouble with this one ;)) He has just started to roll over and loves his tummy time. His favourite toys are the Jolly Jumper and Exisaucer.

Jumping all around!
We also did our first hike to the Chief in Squamish. Now each of my kids has done at least one big hike before they were one. Matty the Grouse Grind and Andrew the Chief (2nd Peak).

Andrew and I at the top of the 2nd Peak of the Chief
Well with my 2 1/2hrs of peace (Matty's in preschool) I have been able to spend more time with Andrew and bring my mind & life back into some order. We start up our swimming lessons in November which I think both the kids will love. So I will try to post some more pictures soon but in the meantime I'm trying to think of some ridiculous Halloween costume for Matty last year a Walrus this year perhaps a pink pony mahmahmah...evil mother laugh!

Holly Cow it's almost September

Tummy Time
Well the last 3 months have flown by and I can't believe that we're going into September. We're going to be potting training next week so bye bye diaper. Matthew will have to go cold turkey so we're rolling up the carpet  and I'll be getting the paper towels ready. Matthew will be starting preschool in September as well and we get to go to the parent night this Wednesday so it should be interesting and nice that I should be getting a couple of hours to spend with Andrew. Speaking of Andrew he is growing like a weed and is already into his Jolly Jumper crazy!!!
Loving the jumper

Weekend Camping with the boys

Ross Lake

So to add a little spice in my life I decided to take the boyz camping with my neighbours for the weekend and leave John at home. So it was 4 of us ladies and 7 boyz all tenting it at Ross Lake. It was awesome and thanks to the ladies helping with Andrew and Matty it was relatively relaxing as it could be. We have discussed making this an annual thing which I think would be awesome and even better cause next year I can par take in the drinking around the fire after the kids have gone to bed. Andrew was awesome and slept better then Matty did...poor little guy had some nightmares. As you can imagine 7 boys ranging in age from 9-2mos there was some fights, falls, and a lot of fun but at the end of the day all the kids got along and had a lot of fun!

Wow July has flown by.

I can't believe that July has flown by so fast. Matty is talking up a storm the latest thing is "what you doing" & "moo fart"....it's actually quite cute. Andrew is smiling and cooing like no tomorrow and he should be close to laughing soon.

Matty has moved himself into his big boy bed which is great but I also miss having the crib. John and I get night time visits and early morning wake up calls but he loves his bed. Now I need to get his room set-up and we'll be good to go. Andrew is a little blessing cause he sleeps 4-6hrs each night which gives me the strength to deal with the toddler who rises so early.

Andrew smiling away.

Not Matty bed but he fell asleep

Cornell Family Vacation 2011

So we all jumped into the RV and headed off Silverwood Theme Park in Idaho and toured our way back through Washington. We have now learned that a 8hr trip takes 12hrs with a toddler and new born and that it's better to break it up into two days. Matty loved the rides at Silverwood and had so much fun riding them with Daddy . Then we head to Farraguat State Park in Idaho which was really nice but nothing that we couldn't find in our own back yard. Our next travel was north west to the town on Winthrop which was so cute and I would definitely go back to. Then the great challenge was getting home through the North Cascade Highway but the old RV passed with flying colours!

A whole month!

Wow how time flies....Andrew is now a month old and looking more and more like Matty did....crazy! We have finally started to get some summer weather which means we're outside as much as possible.

We have even been able to hit the water park, which Matty fully enjoyed. We're going to have to bring our own toys next though. Matty kept playing with everyone else stuff, he's like a magpie lol!

My boyz
Well Andrew is now 3weeks old hard to believe it's been 3 weeks. Little Andrew is getting quite chubby and is starting to fill out the 3mos old cloths. Looks like he'll be out growing his cloths the same way Matty was.  Matty is starting to show more interest but his jealousy has increased as well. He likes to hold Andrew and lie down with him and pretend to go nite nite. The three of us are adjusting and I have to keep telling myself to take a deep breath and if certain things get done or if it takes me 2hrs to go shopping  it's not a big deal.

This I have decided I need to take it easy so we have stuck around home more but tomorrow we'll be off to Strong Start and on Friday Gymnastics have to keep Matty busy he just has so much energy! Well someone is now hungry so I'm off.

Week 2 almost over

Well I have been able to check off the following items on my "Will I be able to do this" list.
1) Take crazy ass dog for a walk with toddler and infant in tow. Check
2) Can I get household chores done with toddler, infant & crazy ass dog. Check
3) Can I go grocery shopping with toddler & infant and not have to leave the store empty handed. Check
4) Am I able to get out of the house before 10am with toddler & infant in tow. Check
So with week 2 ending and I have been able to check this major items off my list it appears that I will be able to survive for the next year. Yeah!!!

Week 2

Well this is the 1st full week that I'll be alone with my boys. Monday seems to have gone well with a play date with the cousins, then afternoon nap followed with play time. Matty is adjusting well, always needs to know where the baby is and lets me know when he thinks I've spent enough time with Andrew, "Baby sit" or Baby down". He is doing surprising well with Andrew and has even held him twice. Hope to be posting some more pictures soon just have to get them in order.

It's a boy!

Well quite the Mother's Day.....we welcomed Andrew Callum Cornell into our lives at 9:52pm May 8, 2011. It seems that both our children need to have stories to go along with their births. Matty's as most people know was that he didn't really want to come out and when he did he gave us a scare in having to be in the NICU for the first couple of days. Andrew on the other hand couldn't wait to come as he didn't even let us get to the hospital. Contractions began around 4-4:30pm on Sunday and I told John that he shouldn't plan on going to work on Monday, but we thought we had lots of time seeing that Matty was about 12hrs, boy were we wrong. So we had family over for dinner and then I went up stairs to rest as the contractions were starting to form more of a pattern. around 45min later I thought I should get in the tub cause it helped last time. I called my mom who came over and John called the midwife. She said it sounded like we had another 2-3hrs to go but if the contractions got worse to head to the hospital and she would meet us there. Well  no more then 5mins later I said we better go. Once I got out of the tub I said no you better call 911 cause I don't think I'm going to make it to the truck. John called 911 while I laid on the bed to get through another contraction, next thing I know I'm pushing and John is delivering our little guy into the world. The ambulance and midwife showed up about 10-15mins after that and everyone was declared healthy. So no hospital was needed and now we're a family of four.

A week at home.

Well this week as gone by pretty fast, I have watch more the my fair share of Toopy and Bino plus Mater Tales. I don't know how but Matty can watch them over and over again. It makes a nice break for me but man I know them by heart now. We're off to try out gymnastics with some of the other moms tomorrow so we'll see how Matty likes it.

I have gotten all the baby gear ready and cleaned the house so I won't have to worry too much when the little guy gets here. Matty is quite interested but for now doesn't appear to want a lot to do with any of it....so here's hoping that he doesn't regress too much once his brother gets here.

Sunday, May 1, 2011

Work is done.

Well Friday was my last day so now we're playing the waiting game.....so far no baby!
So it'll be just me and Matty for the next little bit but something tells me we won't have to wait that long, so I'm going to try to get this organzied cause I know I won't have time after the little one is here.

New Blog

Welcome to my blog.

Mel did such a wonderful job documenting Matty & Cousins that I decided I would continue for the year that I'm off. So I hope you enjoy the posts and pictures to come in the next year, and beyond.
